GAS FOR WOMEN PROJECT

The Gas 4 Women Project (G4WP) is a non-profit initiative geared towards enhancing the adoption and use of cooking gas by women.

As a clean energy advocate, we are greatly perturbed by the devastating and increasing health and environmental effects posed by the use of firewood, charcoal and kerosene by women and children. A report by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016, showed that Household Health Pollution (HAP) has led to 2.216-2.969 million deaths and over 77.16 million disability health cases in sub-Saharan Africa.

Therefore, our goal is simple- to save our women, children and by extension our environment, from the effects of these harmful energy sources, by empowering a minimum of 100 vulnerable women, who constitute over 90% of the users of gas for home and petty business in Nigeria with FREE cylinders and gas annually.

Going forward, our vision is to annually increase the number of beneficiaries of this scheme, while ensuring that they can also preferably access LPG at our facility within the shortest possible distance from their homes and places of business.
